"The scream" by edvard Munch and the "selfportrait with bandaged ear" by van Gogh are works
which haunted me throughout my childhood.

Thus, in conceptualizing the tribute to van Gogh, I naturally brought together news of the incident that
took place on December 30th, 1888 (as well as the selfportrait bearing witness to this) and the expe-
rience gained from my own work on the ear theme.
