The sower, that I have just painted here, has always had a strong impression on me, one that inwardly, I
needed to express.

Van Gogh knew how to express movement better than anyone, making it look so deceptively simple.

He had previously studied "The sower" by Millet. An eternal theme that I wanted to translate in my
own terms.
