Throughout my studies at the School of Fine Arts I had a passion for van Gogh.

At the age of eighteen, I used to collect all his post cards.

What a disappointment I got when I showed my uncle the one of "The Cornfields". "Looks like fried
eggs" he declared, which shocked and revolted me.

The letters to Theo marked my adolescence. At that time I painted artichoke flowers because I couldn't
do sunflowers.
