Born in Medellin in 1932. Leaves for Bogota in 1951 where he has his first personnal exhibition in 1952. Studies at Académie San Fernando, Madrid, Spain. Tudies in Florence (Italy) the technic of fresco. Returns to Colombia in 1955. Lives a year in Mexico, 1956-57. Goes to Washington for the exhibition Pan American Union en 1957. Live and works in New York Since 1960.

Recent personal exhibitions :

1986-90 The exhibition « The Bullfight » is presented in Milano, Naples, Palermo, Knokke le Zoute, Coro, Caracas. His sculptures are exhibited in los Angeles and Mexico. Two retrospectives in Germany and Switzerland.

1991-92 Three retrospectives in Florence, Rome and Vienne. Exhibition of monumental sculptures on Champs Elysées in Paris and Bullfight at Grang Palais, Paris.

1993 Monumental sculptures on Park Avenue, New York, USA.

1993-94 Travelling exhibition : Palais des Papes, Avignon, France ; Musée Pouchkine, Moscou, Musée de l’Ermitage, Saint Petersbourg, Helsinki.

1994 Three exhibitions in Chicago, Buenos Aires and Madrid.
