Birth of Riera I Aragò
in Barcelona on June 28th, 1954. Lives and works in Barcelona, Spain.
Recent personal exhibitions :
1990 Begins to apply color in his sculptures in iron. One-man exhibition
at the Vera van Lear Gallery, Knokke, Belgium. Sculpture titled
« 12 Black Airplanes » for the exhibition « Le
parallèle » in Nantes, France. Completes and instals
the bronze sculpture « Buried Submarine », started in
1987, at the southern end of the Rovira tunnel in Barcelona. One-man
show at the Galerie de la Cité, Luxemurg ; The Musée
d’Art Moderne, Luxemburg purchases the sculpture « Luxembourg
Airplane ». Sculpture « Large Airplane with Blue Propeller
» for the garden of the fondaciò Joan Mirò,
barcelona.
1991 One-man show at the galerie Denise van de velde, Aalst, Belgium,
et the Franz Swetec gallery, Dusseldorf, and at the Galeria Joan
Prats-Artgràfic, Barcelona. Casting at the Takaoka foundry
in Japan of the bronze sculpture « Najio Airplane »,
commissionned by Nishinomiya town Council (Japan) for the town’s
new National Square.
1992 Birth of his son Joan. Commissionned by the Barcelona City
Council to execute a 61 sq. meter bronzemural for the Abraham Center
in the Olympic Village, Barcelona.
